2018 student night

The Interiors Association Annual Student Information Evening took place at The Brooks Hotel in Dublin.

It was a very successful evening with students and graduates from colleges all across Ireland attending. Committee members Angela Connolly (Conbu Interior Design), Louise Higgins (Aspire Design) and John Gibson (Martin Hudson Gibson) presented to a packed house of budding design students and graduates on the options open to them in their future careers.

As a founding member of The Interiors Association, John began by explaining the history of The Interiors Association.  He described how the core objective of the Association at its inception was to elevate the professionalism of the Irish Interiors Industry and to facilitate a nationwide support network of professional accredited members.  That value is still the ethos of The Interiors Association today.

Angela Connolly then explained how a career in Interior Design is not so much a career but a lifestyle.  She explained the importance of branding your own signature style, networking, education, seeking inspiration as well as the further study, internship and career opportunities open to budding designers.

Finally Louise Higgins spoke about the benefits of membership of The Interiors Association, how to become a member, The Interiors Association Code of Ethics, and the different membership categories. The Committee wish to extend a very warm welcome to our 30+ new members and we look forward to seeing you all at future events.
