Meeting of the Education Committee
The Education Committee will reconvene to debate the meaning of the terms 'Interior Stylist', 'Interior Designer' and 'Interior Architect' and the bearing of those meanings on design education in Ireland.

ROC Group joins as Corporate Partner of the IA
We would like to welcome the ROC Group as corporate partners of the IA.
We would also like to welcome two new student members, Natanya Kilmurray and Elena Hayes.
Open House is Ireland’s biggest architecture festival, allowing citizens to explore the architecture of their city. Dublin buildings of all types and periods will open up their doors from the 7-10th of October, with special tours by hundreds of professionals and enthusiasts, completely for free. Galway properties will be doing likewise on the 15-17th October.
Sustainable Design Show
The Irish Sustainable Building Show is running from Thursday the 7th to Saturday the 9th October 2010 in the RDS Dublin.
A small traditional jewelers in the heart of Limerick city was transformed into a bright inviting space by Ronan of Millimetre Design. His use of a natural contemporary pallet and metallic colouring serves to enhance the beautiful products on display.

What does Vescom do?
Vescom is the largest manufacturer and supplier of commercial wallcoverings in Europe. We are a family run business who design and produce innovative, design lead wallcoverings and fabrics for both the domestic and commercial market worldwide.
What products / services do you supply / provide?
We manufacture a vast range of vinyl and textile wallcoverings. Our range includes strong and durable fabric backed vinyl's. Silk, linen and non woven textile wallcoverings including a range with Swarovski Crystal. And very popular at the moment is our bespoke digital print wallcovering range called XL. We have also introduced a great new range of Fabrics. 'Fabrics by Vescom' is a collection of upholstery and CS Trevira curtain fabrics suitable for the contract and domestic market.
Who would be a typical client of Vescom?
We work with architects and interior designers and then manage projects all the way through, working with contractors, decorators etc.. Our typical clients include domestic / residential clients, hotels, restaurants, hospitals and commercial business clients.
Who have you worked with to date?
We work with interiors designers and architects all over Ireland. Delivering projects for clients such as Crowne Plaza Hotels, Doyle Collection Hotels, W Hotels, e-bay, Hewlett Packard, The HSE and many more.
What is unique about Vescom?
We are an eco friendly company who have a very strict environmental policy. 90% of our range is manufactured in our factories in Holland which allows us to be renowned for our fast lead times and great service (and low carbon footprint). Our product is practical, affordable and most importantly, 'design lead'. All of our products meet all requirements set for the contract market.
What does the future hold for Vescom?
Even during the downturn, Vescom continued to invest in new product. We will continue to invest and develop in new product, including developments in healthcare product, textile wallcoverings and expanding our fabric upholstery and curtain ranges.
